March Ban List Rumor 2/13/13

Sorry I've been away a lot, guys. Life as a student senator with a residence life position is a busy job, and I've had to deal with a lot on my plate lately.

ANYWAY, I was checking out Youtube when I came upon a video from MegaCapitalG about a possible ban list. Before I discuss it, here's the list:

Banned:
- Gateway of the Six
- Ultimate Offering

Limited:
- Rescue Rabbit
- Deep Sea Diva
- Tour Guide from the Underworld
- Wind-up Factory
- Dragged Down into the Grave
- Solemn Warning (What?)
- Goyo Guardian (Double what?!)

Semi-Limited:
- Chaos Sorcerer
- Wind-up Magician
- Plaguespreader Zombie
- Lonefire Blossom
- Mystical Space Typhoon
- Fire Formation - Tenki
- Book of Moon
- Legendary Six Samurai Shi-en

Unlimited:
- Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow
- Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner
- Tsukuyomi
- Scapegoat
- Shien's Smoke Signal

So yeah. That's the possible ban list. I am WAY too skeptical about this list with the fact that Plaguespreader AND Goyo are each changed. Limiting Solemn Warning seems ridiculous since so many decks special summon like crazy. And the Six Sam stuff seems like it's nodding toward a Six Sam format again. Other than that, the majority of this list is plausible.

What do you guys think about this possible list?

hey axel, as much as i love this game, i try not to be totally consumed by it. we all have lives to live in the real world too. i've been out for a while myself but will keep coming back as long as i remember this academy... now onto the (rumored) list...

interesting list of possible changes axel. Seems to hit plenty of the top tier decks with most of the limitation seemingly justified. what no BLS, lol? perhaps a few more formats more.

warriors, more so six samurai have plenty of search power so while gateway is a bit overpowered for its archetype, i could live with it being limited. banning it would be acceptable.

ultimate offering: its only a matter of time before a never ending gatget-offering deck would come out so offering has outlived it time. never really used much for that extra normal for tribute process.

limitations: Goyo Guardian would be a big surprise to many. but with plenty of monster dealing cards and a limited battle related effect, it coming back wouldn't be too broken but just might give that "come back" card for those that can synchro to 6.

semis:
tenki already?: seems unlikely since it was just released.
MST: seems fine with it at 3 but maybe konami if forcing duelist to use other cards. not much of a impact. if really needed people will use dust tornado among other alternatives. maybe a hornet problem?
c.sorcerer: seems odd, never liked teh ease of chaos summoning in general for powerful effects (like bls) but it being semi would work against the new phoenix and gives it a card to look out for.

unlimited:
Kalut: hmmm really? didn't konami just released one that boost BW by 500.
tsukuyomi: not really making an impact right now, its a spirit, so it ok.
lumina: wow, will be a big change specially for lightsworns. LS players will be very happy for sure if true.

the rest i'm still analyzing... awesome find axel, but as always we'll have to wait for the true list which will leak out usually a week before march

Don't worry about me being consumed by the game. Far from it. I've actually been more involved with Magic the Gathering than anything else. I've got a $1500 bill to pay to my school, so card games are the least of my worries. I'm still active with the latest news though just to stay somewhat involved. :/

I would like to say though that it's not all that uncommon for cards to hit the ban list recently after they've made it to the TCG. The opposite (to the OCG) has happened as well. Specific examples would be Gishki Gustkraken and Reborn Tengu. Anything is possible honestly.

Also, Night Beam is a fantastic alternative to MST as well.

Looking at the list, it seems to be just a prediction and a wish, when you look at it it seems to mainly attack Dino Rabbit, Fish decks, and Wind-Up (Mainly Dino Rabbit), the rest of the cards on there are average annoyances but not really necessary to help fix the game. Ex. Book of Moon, Solemn, and MST. All of those are cards a lot of people use and it simply sounds like a single persons belief is being used because he sees their importance but personally doesn't think you need that many. Too be honest Limiting Solemn does nothing except help idiots from killing themselves.

You never know though. My source said that this list was revealed by the same guy who revealed the September ban list back in 2012. It's around the same time frame too. Let's be honest, the list has more than likely been made already. It's just a matter of time before it's revealed in Japan's V-Jump. This could very well be the list.

Scratch that. The guy who posted the list successfully predicted/revealed the previous two ban lists.

Well if the list is real my prediction for the new format is Dino Rabbit disappearing and Dragon OTKs becoming the new big deck on DN, with the rest of the tier ones and twos remaining, Wind-ups will probobly lose their annoying followers and keep the ones who don't play simply to spam. As for what I said about solemn...I believe that ruling will stay for only 1 format, again I side 1 solemn, but I really don't use more then Judgment due to the fact it can save your ass at any point in the match and gets better later, while warning isn't all powerful and is a dead draw at later stages in the duel while in the beginning simply puts you in a worse position even if you negate the summoning of a powerful creature.
