Your first Yugioh card?

So whether you have been playing Yugioh for a long time or only recently, everyone starts somewhere with there first card(s). I'm curious to know what peoples first cards were and the story behind getting them and if you still have them today. For me, my first cards were Big Eye and Graveyard Mammoth. Both were given to me by a kid on our school bus. The reason why I got them was because he was the only one who played the game while the rest of us just collected pokemon cards. I'm fairly certain I still have them but they would just be in with all my other cards. They aren't really special to me though. I have plenty of other cards with a better story.

My first cards...Was the Kaiba Starter deck. I saw the very first episode on a local channel right when it was dubbed in America, I decided that looked fun since I used to be a major Pokemon card player so I went down to my local book store (which used to be where everyone bought cards strangely enough. Does anyone remember that?) and picked up the starter deck. After that I started to teach people in my elementary school how to play and that's how I began.

My first YGO card(s) came with the Pegasus structure deck with Relinquished being my first Rarity card. It was summer and hot to do anything. A friend of mine kept telling me about it on small talks. i grew up collecting cards so it got my interest. so i challenged him back not knowing how to play... the rest is history... and i'm still in the game

Mine was the 5 pieces of Exodia

Wow these stories are not what I expected. Also how did you get the 5 peices of exodia? I mean you don't just casually get them from a cereal box. There must be some story.

I used to have the 5 pieces...but someone on a playground stole them and buried them in a sand box....oddly enough I did find 2 of the pieces but they were bent horribly.

Funny thing is, Legend of Blue-Eyes White Dragon, I got 2 boxes of it, the first box I pulled the left arm, leg, and right arm and the next box I pulled the Head and the other leg lol i had some nice boxes XD

Wow I guess you did just casually pull them from a box. Maybe not a cereal box but still. lol

My two brothers and I had to split the original Yugi and Kaiba structure decks. I got the short end of the stick and got Summoned Skull as my boss monster while my brothers got Dark Magician and Blue Eyes. When I got my first booster packs though, I pulled 2 Red Eyes Black Skull Dragon and Twin Headed Thunder Dragon. Not that I ever used them. XD

I'm surprised how many people bought their first card. I almost didn't pay for any of my cards. I would just make trades and kids handed them out like crazy on our bus. Good old bus riding days.

Why complain about summoned skull, in the original format it had more uses the Dark magician...if you also have a red-Eyes. But still, 2500 atk still makes him a powerful card.

cant remember my first card but i do remember have blue eyes, dark magician, and the swamp and lava guys. Got a ton of cards from my uncles had summoned skull too lol

There are 2 reasons why I'm complaining:
1) We played without the rules back in the day just like the anime, so we just summoned monsters regardless of level.
2) My brother also had the horn of the unicorn as well, so 3200 atk Dark Magician... eep.

That changes it a lot..., And I used to stretch the rules as well when I played back in the day. Like telling people I could summon Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth by just sacrificing a Petit moth and a caccoona evolution, since I didn't have a larvae.

Exodia was the best thing around, screw Blue-Eyes btw, you guys like my sig now?

Since I only had random cards I remember my most successful deck was just one with high level 4 atk monsters and then had a bunch of boosts like axe of despair and then of course reborn and such. The only real reason why it won though was because I actually organized my deck. The kids I played against didn't really know how to structure anything and would have so many useless cards.

When I was a kid....I was a moron, I put every card I liked into a pile and called it a deck. I didn't really make good decks until I restarted yugioh in High school when my friend was having a yugioh tournament for a birthday party at a comic book shop. I went, and that when I restarted yugioh and started to play DnD. Actually...nvm, I had 1 deck that I won a small tournament with which was a hand made deck using lava golem, 2 of the Gate guardian cards and Valkyrion as my main attack cards. I only recently rediscovered that I still have my Lava golem and the 3 magnet warriors, sadly I traded my Valkyrion and Gate Guardian pieces for cards I don't even remember.
