U U UMG synchros are coming back!

I'm stoked for the new booster pack. The judgement of light?? Sounds awesome! Btw, for you still updated, what have i missed? I missed the new booster packs like the number hunters, which i dont know what they are, the new hidden arsenal, and the thing with the 3 legendarys

while there seems to be a ot of new things coming out, its still remains to be a dragon format with extended support on them unfortunately. but with nationals being done now and then worlds, its more of a casual dueling timeline for most duelist... i too am keeping an eye out of the new release cards...

yeah i heard of something called "dragon rulers" that is supposed to be really op. Can i get an explanation about why?

Hey Quan, no problem... here's my short explaination of their strenghts...

Dragon Ruler Decks are based off special summoning level 7 dragons from the deck (by using their baby counter-parts in hand), from the hand and from the deck (using big dragon's summoning itself effect). They do this so well that they can xyz quite easily and consistently into a rank 7 xyz's. Most common problem is Dragossac (makes 2 tokens per effect activation, has protection and can destroy a card per turn) and Big Eye (steals opponent's monster permanently). Each of the big dragons has an effect too that either monster reborns (earth), foolish burial (water), reinforcement for dragon (wind) or destroy a card on the field (fire). Note that big dragon's effect can only activate one of its effect per turn and only one of its kind. Dragons on the field return to owner's hand at the end phase of opponent's turn. Bid dragons either have a strong attack or a solid defense aswell...

they too have a judgement of prophecy kind of card in the form of 'dragon rejuvination' to replenish used cards. they can recover from a misplay with ease. they don't care if their big dragon are on or sent to the grave because they can always be revived or used in a different way. banishing a big dragon anywhere and in any way also enables them to search out a baby dragon from their deck of the same attribute. big dragons being level 7 and special summonable opens them up for level 8 synchro's with effect veiler. They even have to option to tribute summon a LADD just because they can SS so easily dargons/tokens...

Prophecy while still a top tier deck still fails to EEV + a 2500 atk dark (in their case, something like a BIG EYE)...

Dragon Rulers are the most consistent top tier deck of the format and tournament results along with OCG results proves it. Reminds me of last year's inzectors around this time of the year.

... and did i mention, a blue eyes structure deck is also on the way! :/

For me, Dragon Rulers are the best deck of the format, and the most frustrating to play against! With Prophecy, at least EEV shuts them down completely.. whereas no card really does it to that extent against Dragons. However, Mind Drain and Imperial Iron Wall are pretty good against them. Hopefully the ban list will help budget players like me out, and hurt Drags, Spellbooks, Mermail and Evilswarm!

Hey skull, i sure do hope so too myself. there's been a lot of discussions on good techs against dragons but none has matched it so far as to countering up their dominance. Many, if able do use: Macro Cosmos, Dimensional Fissure, Vanity Fiend, Electric Virus, Necro Valley and Imperial Fortress against them. They are just very fast at setting up with no draw backs. They do have to manage their resources and dragon count but they get more and more dangerous as the duel progress...

would necrovalley do anything against them? are they so consistent that they can get the element card they need, such as fire for destroy or earth for MR?

Necrovalley, can slow down dragon rulers once it is active as they cannot touch dragons (monsters) in their graveyard to summon or to use as cost for special summoning spam. The big point of it is that dragon ruler's are forced to play from their hand (and deck with baby dragons) which may be limited early in a duel. Elemental dragon decks are usually composed of several attributes and blaster's destruction effect will need a specific additional fire monster to discard for them to work. Necrovalley hinders them somewhat but when it leaves the field, their access to the grave resets. Macro and D.Fissure tends to be long term solutions long after it leaves the field ;p any way there is a card advantage against them is always welcome...

Being a multi-attribute deck, Gozen match also help against them. Note that game two MST and decree's are sided in. Chaos Hunter may also help against them as long as it is protected.

I don't really play ED but i see them a lot played in advanced along with prophecy in DN. I don't see blaster's destruct effect being used much. they would rather play out a dragosac route most of the time and use the tokens to destroy if they can.
